Following on from my last post, I thought I’d just do a quick one about coordinating beach wear! Whether you have twins or just siblings you like to have in matchy matchy outfits, here are a couple of brilliant places to get outfits.
I have two go-to brands for brilliant baby, toddler, and children’s beachwear: Frugi and Close Parent.
Close Parent make fabulous one piece sun suits that have been fantastic for us in the warmer weather. There are a couple of features that I really love – firstly, there’s an integrated cap. This is a joy for me because both of my twins tend to launch hats as far as possible the second they touch their heads, but they can’t with these! The fact that they’re integrated, also means there’s no chance of sunburned necks which is a bonus.
The other feature that I really like on the Close Parent sun suits is that the crotch is poppered. If you’ve ever tried to change a wet baby’s nappy then you’ll appreciate how useful this is.
The sun suits come in great unisex designs, the same as the nappies and play mats they make, so if there’s a design you love then you can go all out and get everything to match! The suits I have are old prints that I snagged in the Babipur sale, but there are lovely new ones available at the moment.
The second brand that I thoroughly recommend for beachwear is Frugi. They always make gorgeous little outfits that are ideal for the beach, and they do swimwear too. Usually, the Frugi summer collections have a couple of coordinating pieces in different styles, and sometimes they even have adult pieces to match too, so it’s worth keeping an eye out if you want to go full-on Von-Trapp level matchiness.
If you’re new to Frugi then it’s worth pointing out that the clothes are cut4cloth, meaning they’re designed to have enough room in the bum department for a cloth nappy – something that regular high street retailers simply don’t cater for.
Both brands are ethical and stocked at Babipur, so go and check them out in time for beach weather!
