Dentek go eco friendly!
I used Dentek flossers for many years before finding a slightly more eco friendly alternative. Now, however, I am thrilled to return to Dentek flossers and stock up my bathroom cabinet with them now that they have brought out a new eco friendly range!
Previously, I have been really frustrated with the general lack of planet friendly options that are readily available when it comes to flossing. I’ve tried a few things, but none have ever been quite as good as the plastic based flossers from Dentek. They enable me to get a much better clean between my teeth than every single other eco friendly product I have tried! This new range is a joy to see on the shelves, and it makes eco friendly options readily available and accessible to families across the UK – a big win for sustainable oral hygiene! The new flossers work in the same way as the plastic version, just without the single use plastic!
The plastic flosser handles have been replaced with floss picks made from a naturally derived, organic, plant based resin that is 100% petroleum free. In addition to the product materials being more sustainable than before, the packaging has also been improved. Dentek packaging is now totally recyclable and it’s also been manufactured using 30% recycled material.
If the Dentek easy brushes are more your thing, these too have had an eco friendly makeover. The plastic has been replaced with the same plant based resin that is used in the flossers, and the packaging has also had a revamp. The packaging can be widely recycled and is made from FSC certified cardboard and 50% recycled PET.
The plant based resin that Dentek are now using derives from Birch Wood, which is a slightly more environmentally friendly alternative to bamboo as it needs less water when its used in a manufacturing process. In addition to moving away from single use plastic and using birch based resin, Dentek have committed to planting more trees than they use. These are all great steps towards becoming a carbon neutral company, and steps that I hope to see more companies taking in the very near future.
“DenTek are also using a bio-resin made from sugar cane plants to manufacture their Eco Cross Flosser, Triple Clean and Triple Clean floss pick products. Using this renewable material reduces carbon emissions by up to 80% when compared to plastic creation. All outer packaging across the eco range will be 100% recyclable.”
If you want to get your hands on some of the new eco friendly Dentek range then you probably won’t have to go far to find them! They are now being stocked at Boots, Amazon, Lloyds Pharmacy, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Ocado, Superdrug, Weldricks Pharmacy and through the DenTek website. You can find both individual packs and multipacks, so you can easily stock up if you need to!
If you have already had a chance to check out any of the items from this new Dentek eco friendly range, I would love to know what you thought – let me know!
